Ledo

Small town in Tinsukia district of Assam.
Known for coal mines. Ledo Colliery, the first colliery of Assam was started in 1882 by the Assam Railways & Trading Company (incorporated by the British in 1881).
The historic Stillwell Road (also known as Ledo Road) constructed in 1942 during World War II, starts from here.
